Fiscal Responsibility
- Property tax rate competitive with other Mecklenburg County towns.
- Leader in the successful effort to return to Matthews its fair share of the prepared food/beverage revenues – in excess of $500,000 this year and growing each year.
- Fought for “Police Tax Equity”. Today this is worth $846,000 per year to Matthews taxpayer.
- Matthews residents pay no solid waste fee.
- Look at and consider all we are doing in Matthews for such a low amount.
- Keeping our other revenues protected and growing to keep property taxes low.
