Mayor McCrory and Mayor Myers
Mayor Myers has been an advocate for Matthews on countless issues during his 20 years of government service to the town. Particularly active in school issues during Mayor Myers' leadership as Mayor, 4 new public schools have opened in Matthews. Our children are attending their neighborhood schools in greater numbers than ever before. Mayor Myers was a contributing factor in advocating for a change with CMS and bringing Dr. Pete Gorman in as our new superintendent.
While we cannot list all of the advocacy roles that Mayor Myers has taken (they are almost daily), we can point to some critical revenue initiatives, which he pursued for the benefit of the Town of Matthews. They are as follows:
